Ups and Downs at Cadwell PARK

Ups and Downs to report this time from Cadwell Park.

Friday testing went pretty well and it was sunny and dry. Saturday dawned misty which soon turned to heavy drizzle that left the track very wet. So on with the wet wheels and out for qualifying, I didn’t over do it as it's not worth crashing in qualifying. Qualified 21st overall. Race 1 was vwey wet with standing water everywhere. I got off to a reasonable start and through the race made progress to be running 17th 9th in class going onto the last lap. Then my gear linkage came undone so I had to pull off stuck in second.

The second race was held over to sunday due to an oil spill.

Sunday dawned wet but drying. As I was starting from the back due to the previous DNF I gambled on tyres and went with intermidiates. They were perfect on the warm up lap but as soon as we started it showered with rain. I pulled in after one lap as it wasn't worth crashing with two more races to come. By the next race it was fully wet again. I started from the back again. This time no gambling I went with full wets. I raced from 31st to finish 24th overall 15th in class to pick up one point.

There was a long delay around lunchtime due to a bad crash. When we got to our final race it was drying again. I bluffed my competitors that I was staying with wet tyres but switched to an inter on the rear. This proved to be a good choice on a drying track . starting from 22nd I finished 12th overall and 10th in class for 6 more points.

Next out is Pembrey in Wales. Then back to Brands Hatch in August Hope to see You soon
